About the event
Governor Mill's has designated 7/21/25 as Maine Commercial Fishing Remembrance Day. Green and White Hope, Inc. plans to host an event to honor the losses (especially given Maine has lost 4 so far in 2025) and have the State of Maine and the nation see numerous organizations come together to re-commit to the safety and wellness of the community. A public ceremony will be held in Lubec, ME at the Lost Fishermen’s Memorial that will include a history of the memorial, an address by the Department of Marine Resources Commissioner, laying of a wreath by the Marine Patrol honor guard, briefings from partners delivering commercial fishing safety services, etc.
